Welcome to HealthLinx Limited
HealthLinx is a biomarker and
diagnostic development company with a focus on the development of
novel blood based diagnostics for targeted diseases that have
un-met market need.
The Ovarian Cancer Program has completed a phase II biomarker trial
in 2008 that screened 150 diseased samples and 212 normal samples
with the outcome being the development of OvPlex™ an
ovarian cancer diagnostic targeting symptomatic women.
Interim results from the multi-centre multi-national trial was
released to the market in late 2011 where over 740 samples were
used in a global recruitment campaign involving clinicians in
Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
HealthLinx will be recognised as a
leader in delivering diagnostic applications to improve health
outcomes.
OvPlex™ is a panel of five biomarkers secreted in women’s blood
and includes CA125. Statistical significance was achieved
demonstrating OvPlex™ is a better performing diagnostic than CA125
as interpreted by an independent biostatistician. A second,
larger 1150 patient multinational, multisite study is underway.
Data analysed to date are derived from a sample set comprising 222
women with malignant epithelial ovarian cancer, 53 women with
confirmed borderline ovarian tumours, 223 women with benign
gynecological conditions and 244 apparently healthy controls.
Independent analysis by Emphron Informatics Pty Ltd, has
confirmed that OvPlex™ displays a robust, statistically significant
increase in performance over CA125 alone for the correct diagnosis
of benign, borderline and early stage malignant ovarian
cancers.
OvPlex™ is currently distributed in Australia, Singapore,
Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

Unlike the
therapeutics’ market, where it can take up to 15 years and
US$1billion to get a drug from discovery to the market, a
diagnostic will usually take less than a third of that time and
less than 10% of the cost.
